Sigh.

Guess what? I thought Wizard magazine couldn’t get any worse. Well, I was wrong.

You know, it’s not enough to give lip service to the idea of the comic book industry reaching out to women. They actually have to change in ways that will bring more women into the mostly male comic geek world. But when the industry’s major publication decides to start calling itself “The #1 Men’s Pop-Culture Magazine!” then something tells me that they aren’t even trying. Talk about a major step backward, fellas. You know, I can overlook all the pictures of half naked women or the lame jokes about wanting to have sex with She-Hulk. I know that comic books are mainly a guy thing. But to have a magazine that I once subscribed to call itself a Men’s Magazine is too much. It’s like they’re not even trying to hide it, you know?

But then again, maybe it’s better to have the disdain for female comic book readers right out in the open instead of hidden among the articles about drooling over Jessica Alba and the lame jokes they use to turn attention away from the fact that they never have countdowns of the hottest superheroes, just the hottest super-heroines.
